Anix’s House of Kare-Kare

Whenever there’s a special occasion in our family such as a birthday or holiday be it Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, there are a select-few restaurants near our place that we would definitely go to to celebrate. And among them is the cozy Filipino family restaurant called Anix’s House of Kare-Kare!

Anix’s Special Crispy Pata – 380 PHP

Located along Sumulong hi-way going up to Antipolo, it’s impossible not to see it! You can turn right to Sumulong going to Antipolo if coming from Marcos Hi-way and you’ll see it on your left way before Mambugan Barangay Hall and Wensha Spa. Landmarks include a Chooks-to-Go on the other side of the road.

If you’re worried about parking, they’ve got you covered. There’s an extra lot beside the restaurant reserved just for parking other than the visible parking space in the front. For the number of people they can accommodate, I’d say it’d be around ten big groups of six on both the outside and indoors.

The most noticeable and unique trait of Anix’s House of Kare-Kare is its interior- it really looks like a family household just turned to a restaurant because, well, it is. There’s a sala packed with dining tables surrounded by wall paintings, shelves showcasing various caricatures, windows with tall colorful curtains, etc. all of which give off a vibe of personal touch by whoever the household master is. The elegant chandelier that ambiently illuminates the entire place makes it all the more intimate and relaxing.

There was this one time when I walked around the sala to look for the bathroom, but ended up opening a door leading to a bedroom with someone inside watching TV instead. I guess the place really still functions as a private house in some of the rooms lol.

Wonderful place, right? Well, here’s the wonderful food that completes the wonderful experience! Enjoy these delicious dishes we ordered along with a whole lot of other traditional Filipino cuisines and delicacies that is of Anix’s House of Kare-Kare. Time to dine! ;)
