Sister’s Birthday at Buffet 101!
I apologize for this backlog post, so yeah- here’s the gist for our first time at Buffet 101!
Just like Vikings, Yakimix, Sambokojin and all the other same-genre restaurants before them, it’s an eat-all-you-can buffet where you pay a certain amount (usually around P500-1,500) to have unlimited access to their food and drinks until they close for their next session- they’re usually open on lunch and dinner.
They currently have branches at San Miguel By The Bay (near Mall of Asia), Robinsons Magnolia and Eastwood City- we went to the latter. Those places are pretty famous already so I probably won’t need to give directions anymore. And if you’re in Quezon City and Pasay already, you can just ask around.
Here are photos of their interiors:
As you can see in the photos, they can accommodate quite a number of people so you don’t have to worry on not getting a seat. They also have private rooms! Their prices are as follows, with no service charge:
Mon-Fri: Lunch P699, Dinner P899
Sat-Sun & Holiday: Lunch / Dinner P899
Children Below 3.5 ft.: FREE
Children Below 4.5 ft.: P499
Leftover Price: P1,350
They also currently have a promo of 5+1 Free, as well as a birthday promo where you can dine there for 7 days free so long as you bring a paying companion.
Here are some of the plates we prepared:
A variety of Japanese food: tempura, sushi, sashimi and takoyaki balls
A variety of seafood: salmon, crab, shrimp, oyster, mussels, etc.
From the carving station: American roast beef with pepper sauce
Freshly baked oyster and mussels
VERDICT: Prices vs. quality-wise, I can vouch that what they offer are almost the same to Kamayan / Dad’s, Sambokojin and Yakimix- meaning, you get your money’s worth of awesome good food! Lots and lots of variety to which I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to taste all the kinds of dishes they have.
But like all the other buffet establishments I mentioned, I noticed they have this sort of bottleneck system on the more expensive food like salmon sashimi and shrimp tempura. I don’t know if I’m just unlucky but it’s been a repeating occurrence lately where I’ve experienced more than once per visit waiting on them for awhile to refill the dishes mentioned. That said, sad to say that I’d prefer Vikings over this and the others. For almost the same price, they have even more dishes and drinks to choose from (although the ones in Buffet 101 is enough already.) One big plus for Buffet 101 vs. the others though, is that their salmon cuts are fresher and tastier!
Anyway, bottom-line, they’re all awesome! Dine-in in all of them if you’d like. :)
