Burrito Brothers’ Burrito Mayhem!

One of the first establishments to sprout in today’s Lilac St. foodie haven is the renowned Burrito Brothers, offering fresh and oh so yummy Mexican food at very affordable prices! They’re open from 11am-11pm, so you can enjoy their delightful salsa meals be it for a late hearty brunch or an early midnight snack for to-go.

Just like the other establishments in Marikina’s Lilac St. I previously blogged about, you can go to the said street via Marcos Hi-way then Sumulong Hi-way, taking a turn to Antipolo’s Soliven St., and then moving on forward until it becomes Marikina’s Lilac St. just after the city border bridge.

For those coming from Quezon City, you can take a U-turn at Gil Fernando St. right after Sta. Lucia Mall. From then on you’ll be making a right turn to Sumulong Hi-way, and then you’ll be in Soliven St. in no time.

You won’t miss it! Landmarks include Bertz Cafe in front, and Tapsilog Avenue as well as Spartea beside it. There’s also Tamagoya and Crazy Katsu, but they’re sort of far away already.

Despite the place being a little cramped, it can seat up to around 40 customers simultaneously with their tables of four and eight. And besides, the ‘semi-constrictedness’ of the area is what also gives that ambiance that makes you feel at home, all of it while being served with delicious homemade food by the very hospitable staff. Mexican and Latin music are also played all through0ut the day as added perks.

I must say, this establishment doesn’t really imply the standard case of ‘you get what you pay for’, ’cause you get more! Their prices are quite affordable, yet the food they serve can be at par, or even better (depends subjectively on the person) than the higher-priced Tacobell, Mexicali, etc.

I’ve tried many mouthwatering foodie from their menu, but if I were to choose my favorites, they would be the Beef/Chicken Burrito, Chicken Fajitas with Mexican rice and salsa, Cheese Sticks, Quesadilla and Nacho Grande.

Here are a few snapshots of what we ordered last time and their prices:

Cheese Quesadilla – 129 PHP

Beef/Chicken Burrito – 99 PHP

Chimichanga – 95 PHP

Cheese Flautas – 55 PHP

Last May 26 was their 10th anniversary, in which they held a buy one-take one promo for their burritos. And it was awesome! Just think: two stuffed big burritos for the price 0f 99 PHP! We had a blast that night. And to make things more memorable, the owner made us borrow the Mexican clothing hanged on the restaurant walls, and took our picture! Burrito Brothers is definitely worth the visit.
