Vikings Marikina: A Feast From the Sea!
At long last, the wait is over! Vikings: A Feast From The Sea‘s Marikina branch finally opened its doors last October 22! And after going there for the first time the week after, let’s start the review with a photo montage!
There are more photos in this video than in the post, so be sure to watch!
I know you’ve got a lot of questions about the place, especially if you haven’t tried their other branch at SM Mall of Asia (MOA), let alone dining at an eat-all-you-can restaurant! So how does the place fare, you ask? Let me get straight to the point: it’s awesome! I’d want to avoid bashing other competing buffet establishments, but Vikings immediately took the number one spot in both price and quality.
Fun facts: they have roughly around 265 varieties of international dishes, mainly Western, Asian and Mediterranean cuisines! For the drinks, they have around 22 different kinds of hot and cold beverages. Dare to try every single one of them? Check out the photos to get your stomachs in the mood for hunger!
Honestly, I was surprised that something that big could fit into a place like that. That’s what she said? Seriously, it was totally unexpected lol. It was literally a food-filled department store. The whole restaurant spans about 1,700 square meters, so I guess that pretty much explains it. I asked the very accommodating staff on their Facebook page, and they told me the Vikings Marikina can simultaneously house 475 hungry buffet-eers, who will be served by 65 hospitable waiters and waitresses- Front of the House team (FoH) as they call it.
Let’s get down to business. Here are their prices:
Weekdays – Lunch: 688 PHP / Dinner: 888 PHP
Weekends / Holidays Lunch and Dinner: 1088 PHP
Not bad, huh!? By the way, they’re open from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm
Reservations can be made thru their Facebook page or their contact nos (which I’ve posted below)
On to the food and drinks! There’s too many to summarize, so here’s the international gist for appetizers and main dishes: American, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Filipino, Spanish, Italian…and more! I want to give a description to the desserts, but I’m finding it quite hard to categorize them to which country they originated >.but believe me, it will be difficult to count them all while eating them. You’ll be sure to give up half-way. They told me this, though: “Chocolate Fondue station, Ice Cream Station, Puto Bumbong/Bibingka, Taho Station, Yogurt, Cakes and Pastries, Halo-Halo, Fresh Fruits, etc.” What’s also awesome is that they have shakes and draft beer! And yes, unlike other buffet places, the drinks are already inclusive.
Did I mention they had promos going on?
a) FB Like and Share gets 20% disc total bill extended up to November 15, 2012.
b) Birthday Promo-celebrant gets to eat for FREE, anyday of his birth month (October and November 2012). Must be accompanied by ONE full paying adult, must present a govt valid ID with birthdate.
My overall experience? Well, let’s just say I haven’t enjoyed both food and service this good in a long while now. Their dishes are freshly cooked whether it’d be from the pan, fryer, oven, boiler, what have you! Though other dishes are only cooked when ordered, but that is to assure food taste and quality. Sometimes, you can even request to the waiters to get some grub or drinks for you so you won’t stand up that much anymore. They’re very hospitable! So hospitable that even one time, after placing a wiener stick on the side of the table, a waitress immediately took it fast enough before I can swallow what I was eating. In minute intervals, they kept refilling our drinks, getting our used plates, and asking us if there’s anything else we need. Now that’s service!
And they posted a placard everywhere that says “Please bare with us as we are only on our soft opening.” Just what is there to bear? Are they trying to be funny or something!? :D
So that’s about it. Be sure to visit, alright? Here are more pictures:

YAHOOOOOO! Thanks for this post Chad. It seems there is not much difference from that of MOA’s, I was a bit worried because it read “junior buffet”, pero mukhang pareho naman pala. So sxcited for the carving station and the oysters. Thanks again! Great photos, as usual ;-)
P.S. I meant, so “EXCITED”, ahaha, hala naging parental guidance pa ang comment ko. :-p
Thanks, Roni! I was also thinking at first that this would be a smaller version of MOA’s branch, but it’s good to hear from you that it’s almost the same. It saved me time and money- I couldn’t imagine before how the other branch would be better than Marikina’s since they’ve got everything covered already. ;D
I hope you’ll enjoy dining there as much as I did! :)
grabeh chad!!! super kagutom!! salamat sa pagshare for sure magvikings kami yayain ko si rj!
Haha no prob! Glad you liked my review :D Sa MOA may Vikings din, mas malapit ata sa inyo yun :)
AHHHH THE PHOTOS, KUYA CHAD!! ;_; Your post just made me more excited about my soon-to-be first visit at Viking’s. At Mall of Asia. On my birthday. This month. XD
Were you able to eat there already? I hope my review did not disappoint! ^_^
Please correct me if I am wrong for the Marikina branch. I think, this is the exact mechanics of the Birthday Promo. http://allpromos.ph/1405/vikings-free-buffet-birthday-promo/
as against what you said. let me quote ” Birthday Promo-celebrant gets to eat for FREE, anyday of his birth month (October and November 2012). Must be accompanied by ONE full paying adult, must present a govt valid ID with birthdate.”
Hi, Max! This is for the MOA branch. In the Marikina branch, you can celebrate it on the ‘month’ of your birthday. The text I posted was copied directly from my inquiry to Vikings SM Marikina’s Facebook page. :) Happy eating!
is there a beer or wine? is it included in the pack for eat all you can?
Hi, Kat! Yup, there’s draft beer. But I’m not so sure about the wine. Better call them :)

Hi, Michi! Sure thing. Just don’t edit anything in the photo, and send me the album link of the social networking site you’re going to post it at, if you’re ever going to post it :)
Hi, pa-grab po ng mga pix ha. I-lalagay ko lang po dun sa event na gagawin ko on FB. Tnx.
Sure, just don’t forget to give credit to the site and photographer. :)
