Friday, September 21, 2012- the much awaited iPhone 5 finally went on sale worldwide as tens of thousands eagerly fell in long lines just to have one unit that costs around 30,000 PHP (16GB). Not only did the phone’s hardware specifications improve significantly- being faster as well as having a bigger screen and all, but it also comes with the all new iOS 6.
But for most consumers, the question ensues: “Is it jailbroken already?”
(Don’t know what jailbreak is? Let me teach you about it here!)

At the World Wide Jailbreak Convention (WWJC) held in San Francisco last June 11-15, iOS jailbreak hacker Cyril (a.k.a. pod2g) talked about jailbreak techniques and the future of iOS 6 jailbreaking. He opened his iOS 6 speech with “Will I release the iOS 6 jailbreak today? No! Of course not!” Alas, the iOS 6 jailbreak he teased everyone with last week was meant for jailbreak developers like the iPhone Dev team and the Chronic Dev Team to work on.
Technically, a tethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5′s iOS 6 is available, but has not fully ripen yet. Click here to know more about it or if you want to try it out. For the patient ones, I suggest we wait, cross our fingers and hope for an untethered jailbreak soon enough.
