Just a couple more weeks until the English version of Persona 4 Arena‘s release!
August 7, 2012 to be exact. Also known as Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, it’s a fighting game based on one of the famous Shin Megami Tensei role-playing game series: Persona 4. The game will be simultaneously released on both the PS3 and XBOX 360.
If you haven’t played it yet on the PS2, then you’re missing out on a lot! It’s sort of like a revolutionized Final Fantasy game that has the elements of slice-of-life anime, dating sims and RPG all mashed up together.
The story of P4 Arena takes place 2 months after Persona 4′s True Ending, and two years after Persona 3 FES’s The Answer. Persona 3 characters are also included in this game.
Plot from Wikipedia:
As a result of Teddie’ssudden disappearance in Inaba, his comrades from the Investigation Team begin watching the Midnight Channel, where random people are often seen, in hopes of spotting him. They find what appears to be Teddie in a pirate outfit announcing a fighting tournament called the “P-1 Grand Prix” to see who is the “Ultimate Persona User”. Confused by this turn of events, the group agrees to reunite and enter the tournament to find out what has happened to their friend, as well as see who among them is the “Ultimate Persona User.”
I wasn’t able to play P3, and only play P4 halfway throughout the game because the anime caught up where I was so I ended up just watching the anime. But I definitely enjoyed the game nonetheless. It was a pretty new experience for me. Final Fantasy is awesome, but this one also has a unique awesomeness in it. After all, they were also the ones who made that revolutionary game “Catherine.”
Anyway, let’s just keep our eyes, wallets and game consoles open for P4 Arena!
