    Treffpunkt, German Sausage Buffet!

    by chad

Get your hungry bellies ready for Treffpunkt‘s eat-all-you-can German sausage buffet! This goldmine of a restaurant has been around since 1986, but I guess they don’t like to advertise much. I only got news about this after my sister told me about it a week ago, but I’m definitely gonna bring my friends here for another visit sometime soon!

It took us some time finding the restaurant, but that’s just because we took the P. Tuazon route. With Treffpunkt having rested along Liberty st. cor. Edsa, the best way would be going via Katipunan, then turning right to Boni Serrano st. just before White Plains. After that, turn right to Edsa then you’ll be seeing the place soon on your right side at Liberty street.

Silya’t Sili – White Plains Home Decor, Art Gallery & Resto!

    by chad

A friend who’s going back to work as a mariner for a year took us to this awesome restaurant-slash-art gallery called Silya’t Sili, located along White Plains in Katipunan Ave., Quezon City. The place offers specially home-made Filipino dishes that’ll knock your socks out. :D

At first glance, I thought we’d be bleeding out of our wallets since it’s facade waas kind of high-class looking, not to mention the cars parked and the people eating inside. But nah, after eating there, I guess it was all imagination derived from the insecurities of not having too much dough on our pockets LOL.

It ain’t called home decor and art gallery for nothing. The staircase sides are beautifully engrossed with chili, and the restaurant walls, with various kinds of paintings produced by honed artists. While you look through the art and taste your chow, a soothing cafe background music shall accompany you in your endeavors.

Let’s get down to business. The three of us ordered Crispy Pata, Beef Bulalo, Grilled Squid, Bicol Express, Pinakbet, Binagoongan Rice, Plain Rice, and Yellow Mango Shake, which totaled us around 1800 PHP. Not bad huh? And they’re all very delicious to boot. Click here for the full list of the menu.

    Pictures and individual prices below:

Alexei’s Diner & Cafe – “The Juiciest Burgers in Town!”

    by chad

I don’t really intend to raise your expectations to a ridiculous degree, but get ready for the next best thing to happen in Marikina City resto-history! This recently-opened resto-cafe, Alexei’s Diner & Cafe, is definitely one of the best places to go to whether you’re hungry or just want to hang out with friends over coffee and dessert.

It’s located at #7 Gil Fernando Ave. in Marikina City, between Marquinton and Marikina Engr. Building. You know that street with Tapsi Ni Vivian near Sta. Lucia Mall and Robinson’s Metro East? Just keep moving forward from there and when you cross  the Sumulong Hi-way intersection, you’ll eventually find it on the ride side bundled along with Extreme Auto Center.

The entrance with tall walls and the auto center logo might put you off, but the place is pretty nice once you go in – not to mention the ample parking lots available. Somewhat American-styled, those who want to dine in the perfect weather outside or just smoke can just sit down on  on the spacious comfy area provided just outside the cafe’s entrance. What’s really neat is that they also have Wi-fi!

Some of the seats outside really remind me of those in MacLaren’s from How I Met Your Mother :)

Upon entering the cafe, the waiters and waitresses would greet you accordingly, offer you a seat and let you choose a meal from their menu full of awesome and mouth-watering feasts mostly influenced by American and Italian cuisines.
